An Overbury 4yo easily toped the inaugural Goffs (Ire) NH Breeze up sale.
Consigned by Dromond and sold by Philip Dempsey he made 75,000 euros.
His dam, Tapua Taranata had only bred two winners previously so it was his looks
and athleticism that made him the stand out horse at the sale.
Saturday the 24th Febuary as a good day for Overbury, the Mercy Rimell owned
and bred Simon won the Racing Post Chase by 10 lengths, this was his fifth win over
jumps. Also at Kempton Evelith Echo won the bumper for Alan King at the first time of asking.
At Newcastle Kealshore Boy defied a penalty for his win at Kelso to win his second bumper and
looks a useful recruit for George Moore. Not bad for one day.
On the first day of the Irish flat season the Overbury filly Ardbrae Lady won the Group 3
European Breeders Fund Stakes over a mile, following up her second place in the Irish 1000 Gns last year.
It was gratifying to see the 4yo Overbury gelding Kealshore Boy make
290,000 Gns at the Doncaster May sales. He had won two bumpers and Graham
Wylie purchased him to go hurdling next year.
Overburys 8 y.o. Ballyfitz won the Pertemps Final at the festival sprinting
clear of Miko de Beauchene at level weights, Miko won two top races this
year including the Welsh National and is rated 144 over fences. Ballyfitz
is improving with every race and looks a very exciting prospect.
Needwood Blades yearlings averaged £20,000 with 20 sold and a top price of £85000 to Shadwell stud,
they purchased a second for £55000.
Beat All has had three 2yo winners from four runners.
Central Park had just one yearling sold at the October sales for £16000. His winner to runners ratio is 47%.
